Positively 16 Portland Street
Part of what we want to do here at Global Footsteps is to provide opportunities for creativity to flourish and to bring people together to enjoy themselves in ways that don't create much environmental impact. So, on Wednesday 28th of April 2010 we want to fill our 'FootSteps' cafe with totally unplugged music, coffee and good conversation. We want you to come down with your instrument, be it a guitar, a drum, a voice, a cello, a fiddle, an accordion, a mandolin or anything else and play us a song or two! We want to keep it totally unplugged to lower our electricity use, (but we can probably allow a Keyboard to be plugged in for one or two songs!) The plan is to do something a bit like a 'guitar pull', an old Country music tradition still alive today. At a guitar pull a group of songwriters come together, sit in a circle and pass (pull) a guitar round with each musician playing a song when the guitar reaches them. All ages, abilities and genres are welcome as people who just want to come and listen! Why 'Positively 16 Portland Street'? Well 'Positively 4th Street' is a famous Bob Dylan song, but 'Footsteps' is to be found at 16 Portland Street... I'm sure you've worked that out! We're aiming to make this an evening event starting at about 6.30pm, we'll go on as long as we feel we want to and there is a pub over the road! Entry is FREE, but we'd love you to become a member, or donate a pound or two to the charity! If you are interested in coming, please drop Morgan (mogsie music) an email:
