Global Venturers carry mosquito nets in Kisumu, Kenya, 2009Global Ventures

At Global Footsteps we are promoting our Global Ventures programme, we have contacts in towns and cities all over the world and we want you to visit them, connect with people to see how they really live, to understand what drives their behaviour and to appreciate how we are all interconnected.

Theoretically any member, from any one of our linked communities, can go on a Global Venture, whether you are from Sochi, St Ann or Gottingen, Cheltenham, Torun, Kisumu or Trabzon you could have the opportunity of a lifetime to visit like minded persons from anywhere in our network

Sponsorship for community-based charitable Global Ventures by individuals

Global Footsteps is a charity that promotes understanding of other cultures and care for our respective environments. In particular it aims to assist young persons to gain experience of other parts of the globe as part of their personal development. The assistance it gives is dependent on the aims of the visit abroad and the eventual outcomes. They need to be for the "global good".

Such ventures could be part of an ongoing community and/or environmental project, or initiate such a project and/or result in ongoing dialogue with the host community. The programme is based on the equitable principle that the receiving community should also be entitled to reciprocal opportunities for its young counterparts. It may well include the visit being reciprocated, with assistance from the charity and from the original venturer. Global Footsteps already has overseas link partners in various countries and is prepared to extend to others as circumstances permit.

Any young person from our network who has such a practicable venture in mind, or is open to ventures originated by the charity, is invited to contact Global Footsteps by post or e-mail to discuss their ideas and the means to achieving their ambition. Any successful applicant will need to demonstrate their commitment to the objectives of the charity, they will be expected to run fundraising activities and will need to become a subscribing member (annual membership fee of £4).
